Developing Skills, Shaping the Future

At CIS, our economic and human capital development program focuses on creating jobs, nurturing entrepreneurship, and improving livelihoods. This involves our work with organizations like Sawabenu, a Liberian NGO that replaced the Cater Center Rule of Law Program. We worked to develop a strategic plan for the organization and hosted a two-day workshop to facilitate discussions on core values and developing internal policies. Similarly, our team worked with the Teach For Liberia Alumni Association to conduct analysis on their leadership and strategic plans and develop an actionable Strategy for moving the Alumni Association forward in a sustainable way.
During our localization summit, we partnered with the Liberian NGO network to work to develop skills training in high-demand sectors to include. Our programs are adapted to local markets and cultural contexts, while working hand-in-hand with private-sector actors, cooperatives, and community groups to ensure inclusive growth that benefits women, youth, and marginalized populations
