CIS partnership with Teach For Liberia on Developing Strategies for the Alumni Association
Center for Integrated Solutions (CIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Teach For Liberia (TFL), a leading educational leadership program that uses teaching as a pathway to nurturing future leaders. This strategic partnership aims to enhance education initiatives in Liberia by providing targeted support in monitoring and evaluation, professional development, and digital literacy. Our role in this partners focuses on providing technical expertise that enhances program effectiveness and fosters lasting impact.
Last weekend, CIS facilitated key sections, including an Alumni Association SWOT analysis, an actionable Strategic Plan and Stakeholder mapping for the Alumni Association. Led my Dr. Zuleka R. Woods, Cheif Program Officer, the group engaged in discussions with the the TFL Alumni teaching relevant tools and skills to drive change within their classrooms and communities.
CIS remains committed to promoting locally-led, context-appropriate solutions that prioritize sustainability and community ownership. At the event, TFL CEO Alicia-Ann Caesar said “We believe you can’t run a country without understanding the foundation of your country, which is education—our children,”. Additionally? She emphasized that as a Liberian NGO first and foremost, and TFL built pathways for the fellows to become accredited teachers.
Dr. Woods echoed the sentiments by ensuring CIS leadership commitment to building pathways for Liberia’s future. “We strongly believe in the work of TFL. We know first hand the impact teachers have on our communities. It is essential that we invest in developing quality teachers”.
Teach For Liberia and CIS will continue to work together forming more pathways to nurturing future leaders and developing stronger professional networks to explore education as a catalyst for development in Liberia.
Teach For Liberia recruits four-year college graduates to serve as teachers in underserved schools for two years. The organization currently operates in eight counties and is expanding into Maryland County, where 20 new recruits are undergoing training.
