We are thrilled to announce that Center for Integrated Solutions is hosting the first ever Locally-led Development Summit on June 27, 2024 in Monrovia, Liberia. This summit is designed to foster meaningful collaborations and strengthen the capacities of local organizations by connecting them with international NGOs and top donors like USAID, the World Bank, the European Union, the Embassy of Sweden, and various UN agencies.

The specific objectives of the Summit are:

  • Networking and Enhancing Visibility: To facilitate direct engagement among local partners for future collaboration.
  • Sharing Best Practices: Facilitate a series of interactive sessions where local partners can exchange insights and strategies for enhancing organizational effectiveness and governance. This will also include case studies and success stories from organizations that have implemented strong systems and policies.
  • Donor and Partner Engagement: Create a platform for local partners to engage directly with representatives from international donor agencies and implementing partners. This will include panel discussions, matchmaking sessions, and presentations, aimed at boosting the visibility of local partners in crucial technical sectors such as Health, Education, and Climate Finance.

The specific objectives of the Summit are:

  • Opening ceremony with remarks from CIS leadership and a keynote speech by a high-ranking official from the Liberian government.
  • Plenary sessions featuring donor institutions (including USAID), with topics covering the practical applications of donor policies with a focus on locally-led development.
  • Matchmaking sessions to enable direct engagement with local partners and donors.
